A rare midweek missive

Hello, friends,

In one of my many previous jobs, I had a boss who was a renowned fundraiser and one of the things he would say to his top prospects was that they were the President’s “kitchen cabinet.” I now know that he meant trusted advisors, but I never lost the visual of these people living inside a cabinet in the kitchen just waiting to pop out and give advice (and money).

I share this scintillating fact because I’m writing to you as supporters and advisors today; you’re the Survival by Book “library cabinet,” as it were.
